Despite a ten year hiatus, bisexual club night The Fence Sitters Ball finally got back underway again at the very friendly Two Brewers in Clapham in South London. After a long search for a suitable venue for the night which was bi friendly and in easy reach of a tube station the first FSB which took place on Thursday 25th May saw guest DJ spots from two very popular performers from various popular Brixton nightclubs DJ Fiddle and DJ LD Rudeboy. Marc Turner the promoter of the Fence Sitters Ball got things going with a punk heavy rock / reggae set.

At the end of the first night the manager of the venue invited the Fence Sitters Ball back for a regular spot every two months and the next FSB is going to be on the 27th July followed by gigs on the 21st September and the 23rd November.

DJ Fiddle said during the evening: ‘this night has the feel of a night that could really take off and I’m really enjoying playing tonight’. He also praised the enthusiasm of the customers.

FSB promoter Marc said: ‘I want to keep the music policy for FSB as open as possible. I want people to be surprised at what they hear and not feel that they are going to get this type of music or that type of music. I want people to think ”hey thats a good tune I’ve never heard that for a long time or ever” and get up for a dance.’ About 35 people turned up for the first night but it is hoped that the night will grow and grow. There are also good facilities for cabaret and stand up comedy at the venue and this is something that is being considered for the future.

It is hoped that the FSB will become a proper community fixture and people are welcome to say what they want to see put on at the FSB or any suggestions for special events or comments by emailing [email protected]
