By The Bi hits Dublin

America’s Blazing Change Players bring a new play, By the Bi, to The Teacher’s Club this month as part of the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, the largest LGBT theatre festival in the world – and they’re on the cover of the new edition of BCN.

Directed by Caroline Downs, choreographed by Morgan Barbour, performances run from May 4th – 9th.

Told through a series of fifteen vignettes utilizing a unique cohesion of music, dance, and spoken word, By the Bi unpacks how society’s isolation of bisexual culture perpetuates harmful and hurtful stereotypes of bisexuality, including confusion, greediness and promiscuity. By the Bi is an open platform that discusses the oppression of the bisexual community and celebrates the beauty and individuality of its members. It is not only a show, but a proactive step forward in the movement for social equality.

Blazing Change Players is an educational theatre company with a mission to create original, dynamic dramatic works that serve as a tool to educate and create a platform for open discussion on issues of invisibility, oppression and equality. BCP was co-founded by American actresses Morgan Barbour and Caroline Downs IN September 2015.

By the Bi features Morgan Barbour, Kate Crescenzo, Jake Ehrlich, Natalie Morales, Dante Piro, Gabby Rojtman, and Dion Torres, with voice over work by Caroline Downs and Andrew Reid. All actors are making their Irish debut.

The creative team includes Max Ehrlich (fight choreography), Devin Roman (lighting design), and Connor Scudder (musical composition).
