Bisexual calendar: 15-21 February
Make new bi-mates this week at bi meetups across the country!
Monday from 6pm it’s London‘s Over-50s bi group, at the Age UK centre, Tavis House, Tavistock Square, London. WC1H 9NA. Alternatively there’s a bi talk for LGBT History Month at the University of Kent in Canterbury at 7.30pm; details here.
Tuesday it’s the turn of Manchester‘s bi pub meet, 8pm at the Waterhouse pub opposite the town hall (usually in one of the two rooms toward the back – look for the cuddly lion).
Also that night in Swansea it’s the Bi Swansea meet from 7.45pm at Mozarts, Walter Road.
Wednesday night sees Bi & Beyond meet at LGBT Centre for Health & Wellbeing, 9 Howe St, Edinburgh from 7pm.
Friday in Sheffield has a one-day conference on the Bible and media representations of LGBT including a paper on bisexual invisibility and erasure in Orange is the New Black. It’s at the Arts Tower all day long – tickets are very close to selling out but if you are in the area it may be worth going along in case of some people who have pre-booked dropping out.
On Saturday in Bristol Jacq from Bis of Colour presents research on Black & Minority Ethnic bi experience as part of the LGBT History Month event in the city that day. 12.20pm, details here.
Finally on Sunday two bi dates in Manchester. From 10am-5pm there’s a conference on Polyamory, Non Monogamy and Relationship Anarchy at the old Cornerhouse (tickets £5) where BiPhoria will have a bi outreach stall. Long-standing bi activist Jen Yockney and Rewriting the Rules author Meg John Barker – both co-authors on the Bisexuality Report – are among the speakers.
Alternatively that day there’s the Manchester bi coffee meet at the Vienna Coffee House, Moseley Street, from 1pm. Look for the cuddly lion, again.
