“Inclusive” EuroPride Manchester Takes Shape
Largely and unfortunately clashing with this year’s BiCon is the EuroPride festival, being held in Manchester from 15 – 25 August. The plans are ambitious and the scale of the event grand, with aims to raise over £200,000 for community groups and charities in the HIV and LGBT sectors.
Having previously reported on a lesbian and gay centred agenda we are pleased to say there will now also be a bisexual space at the festival, as Tuesday 19th will see the launch of the new edition of Bi Community News’ guide to bisexuality in the UK, held in Taurus, a bar on Canal Street. The ‘gay quarter’ around Canal Street has been notorious in recent years for venues with “no bisexuals” door policies so it’s helpful to know of venues that will not be operating such.
