Things are going from bad to incredibly bad in Russia at the moment. Rather than try to describe it ourselves let’s go to one of the sources on the ground.
In a statement the Russian LGBT Network commented about the present situation in Chechnya: “The Russian LGBT Networks is highly disturbed and concerned about the information on the kidnapping and killing of people in Chechnya because of their sexual orientation. We are also outraged by the reaction of the officials of the Chechen Republic, who in fact justify the killings.”
There’s a fundraising webpage to try and help cover the costs of evacuating people from the centre of the crisis.
We know how financially hard things are for many bi people and would never say anyone ‘has to’ give. However, some BCN readers may be able to assist: if that’s you, point your web browsers at https://go.allout.org/en/a/chechnya/
