The agenda for the big bi day out in Nairn is out!

The programme for the day, to be held on Saturday 28th October, covers diverse topics from sex and relationships to mental health, and sessions that are focused on just having a little fun with like-minded people. There will also be some workshops focused on the needs of young, disabled and minority ethnic people who are bisexual and/or trans. Workshops will be facilitated by a variety of voluntary sector organisations and community members.

The full BiTastic! programme and free tickets are available on the website here. BSL interpretation is available if requested before 11 October.

The event will also have information stalls from a range of voluntary sector organisations.

Tim Hopkins, Director of the Equality Network said: “We know from research that bisexual and trans people are often at risk of poorer health outcomes and face specific barriers in accessing support. Events created especially for bi and trans people are very much needed to combat isolation, which is one of the main reasons why these poorer outcomes exist, but such events are rare. We are very proud of our BiTastic! events which are specifically designed to raise awareness of these issues and provide spaces that combat such isolation.”

Sophie Bridger from Stonewall Scotland adds, “We are delighted to be involved in providing a much needed space for bisexual and trans people to come together. The needs and experiences of bi and trans people can be overlooked in both mainstream and LGBT spaces. This event will give people the opportunity to build their confidence to make their voices heard, to meet allies and to realise they are not alone.”
