Leicester Pride

This year’s Leicester Pride was a splendid day out despite intermittent showers (which sent everyone scurrying into the assorted community tents). Thanks to a helpful festival organising team, there was a bi community stall again this year.

“It wasn’t the most successful stall ever - we forgot to pack the local bi information leaflets and so only had the national stuff about BiCon and BCN! Running the stall also showed the value of silly things to entice people toward your stall such as lollipops, though I don’t know if they make people pay more heed to what you are about or they just take the sugar fix and run.

“But we ran a sign-up sheet for the regional bi email network on yahoo, and got about a dozen new people to sign up for that during the course of the day. Several of them have since posted to the list so it’s had some kind of impact, and there was some interest in BiCon and the art auction particularly, so perhaps we will see some of the people we met on the day at Manchester.”
