Freddie Star Hits Back

The star of upcoming Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody has rebuffed complaints that the film is set to erase his bisexuality and the end of his life.

Social media burst into anger based on a short trailer for the film earlier in the year, but Rami Malek told Attitude in an interview this month that the fury is baseless.

“Let me say that I don’t think the film shies away from his sexuality or his all-consuming disease, which is obviously AIDS.

“I don’t know how you could avoid any of that, or if anyone would ever want to,” says Rami, who plays Freddie.

The film, which has been through many contortions swapping both director and lead actor during production, is out on October 24th.
