SF BiCon rejigged!

Earlier this year we reported on San Francisco’s plans for its own BiCon this autumn.

It is apparently the first big bi event in the city in a remarkable 30 years: the organisers note that “there are no bars and few events in the Bay Area that center bisexual people, despite the fact that this population forms the majority of LGB population and are active participants in the queer scene.”

Just as elsewhere in the world, in the famously queer friendly metropolis there is no continuous bi or bi-focused space, simply fleeting spaces for groups or events.

But that plan has now expanded into two events in the next five months.

The programme for October 12 has been rebranded as Unico(r)n and includes:

-Anti-Racism 101: Dismantling Racism & White Supremacy. How to be a queer ally. with Shaun Haines, Karen Fleshman, Esq. and LeRon L. Barton
-Trans Awareness with Aria Sa’id, Janelle Vinson, and Sean Greene
-Speed Dating (for friendship or dating) with Bex

After that there’s a (separate entry fee) bi comedy night nearby.

Meanwhile the main SF BiCon event is now scheduled for 1-2 February 2020, in San Francisco and Oakland, California. We look forward to seeing the programme for the day (and if anyone can donate the cost of going to the USA to be there…)
