Two bisexual groups are among 24 LGBT organisations announced as grant recipients this April.
The LGBT+ Futures Fund is administered by the LGBT Consortium and is government funding. It’s an initiative from the Government Equalities Office following the research conducted in 2017 that produced the largest data set yet on the lives of LGBT people in the UK and the LGBT Action Plan which followed.
Some £200,000 is being shared out, with the grants awarded ranging from £1,000 to £19,000.
Birmingham’s Bi Group (organisers of the annual Bi Camp, and much else) and London’s Bi Pride festival to be held this September are the two lucky recipients of funding.
Other organisations successful in their funding bids include Leicester LGBT Centre and Allsorts Youth in Brighton. Prides and youth organisations were among the priorities for the programme.
